The Private investment promotion agency (Proinversión) has announced that the Hospital of High Complexity PPP project in Piura and the Hospital of High Complexity PPP project in Nueva Chimbote will be awarded in 2Q of 2023.

Investments in both projects will amount to US$320 million. The projects will benefit 1.6 million insureds in Ancash, Piura and Tumbes. PROINVERSIÓN approved the new final version of the concession agreements and sent the document to ESSALUD for a positive opinion. The projects include components of design, financing, hospital infrastructure construction, and the purchase and replacement of clinical and non-clinical equipment. The concessionaire will provide support for hemodialysis services, imaging and laboratory diagnostics, as well as general laundry, catering, security, solid waste disposal and handling, cleaning, maintenance, equipment purchase and maintenance, and in-hospital logistics. Medical services will continue to be provided by the state through ESSALUD staff: doctors, nurses and technicians.

One of the projects involves the development of the Hospital of High Complexity in Piura, Peru. Another one involves the development of the Hospital of High Complexity in Nueva Chimbote, Peru.
