The Private Investment Promotion Agency of Peru, ProInversión, is set to award the development of the Huancayo-Huancavelica Railroad project by July 2019. 

ProInversión official specified that until June of this year, those interested in the Huancayo-Huancavelica Railroad project will be able to present their credentials for prequalification to participate as bidders of the project.

The general aspects of the project, the investment schedule, the technical and financial structuring of the project; as well as the competition factors (Remuneration for Investments in Works; Remuneration for Investments in Rolling Stock and Remuneration for Maintenance and Operation), were discussed on the event attended by ProInversión officials and the representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. 

The project involve the design, build, financing, acquisition of rolling stock, operation and maintenance of the Huancayo - Huancavelica Railway, which aims to ensure a safe, efficient and comfortable rail transport service for the users of the Junín and Huancavelica regions. .
