The Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (ProInversión) presented to the market the new portfolio of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) projects and Assets Projects, and the lines of action of the entity to achieve short, medium and long term objectives for 2020-2021.
The optimized portfolio of mature projects for the next 18 months (until June 2021), consists of 23 projects for a total investment amount of US$ 5,351 million, of which 13 will be awarded for US$ 2,344 million and declared of interest 10 (private initiatives) for US$ 3,006 million. Likewise, the portfolio of projects in maturation, to be awarded in subsequent periods, consists of 21 projects for a total investment amount of US$ 3,205 million.
The main projects include the Massification of Natural Gas Use projects in seven regions (which requires an investment of approximately US$ 200 million); Huancayo - Huancavelica Railway (US$ 227 million); Longitudinal Road Section 4 (US$ 464 million); EsSalud de Chimbote and Piura hospitals (with a total of US$ 254 million); the Peripheral Ring Road project (US$ 2 billion); Lima water supply concession (US$ 720 million); among other very important projects for the country.
To improve the quality of the projects the ProInversión has been preparing the Standard PPP Contract and Financial Structuring Guide with which it seeks to standardize processes and generate a stable, transparent framework with predictable and clear rules for entities, potential bidders and financiers on issues of risk allocation, guarantees, expiration, among others.
