Private investment promotion agency (PROINVERSIÓN) has announced that the organization is advancing the development of the Cajamarca Wastewater Treatment public-private partnership (PPP) Project (PTAR) in Peru.
The project is supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and involves design, financing, construction, rehabilitation, operation and maintenance of the main sewers, pumping stations, transmission lines, emitters, treatment and final disposal of wastewater for the city of Cajamarca, including in the districts of Cajamarca and Baños del Inca. The US$58 million project will have a positive impact on the health and quality of life of the population, as well as on education, the economy and the environment. In addition, the project should reduce the pollution of the Mashkon River, as well as the incidence of acute diarrheal diseases and parasitosis.
The duration of the concession is 25 years, of which three years are design and construction and 22 years are operation and maintenance.
