The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has announced 80% progress on the south Caacupé hill section of the duplication and expansion of the Route PY02 highway public-private partnership (PPP) project in Ypacaraí, Paraguay.

The total investment of the project, including the US$4.3 million investment in the duplication of the 59.3 km to 62.1 km route, is US$34 million, This is the largest construction contract in Paraguay to be executed under the modality of the Public Private Alliance Law (APP).

The Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) Rutas del Este is in charge of the PY02 route's construction. The total estimated investment is more than US$500 million.
