Two projects, consisting of four hospitals, have received the land for the development. The projects were awarded within the Second Program of Concessions of Health Establishments and include Red Maule Hospitals, awarded to the Ibero-Asian Consortium, and Buin-Paine Hospital, awarded to the Sacyr Consortium. The combined investment in these hospitals is around US$364 million.
In this way, an important advance was made in the construction of the three hospitals in Cauquenes, Constitución and Parral of the Maule Region, which will replace current insufficient facilities. After the delivery of land, the concessionaire company will begin the final design project of the precincts, allowing to start construction works set in the second half of 2022. The operation of these new health facilities is expected to begin during the first half of 2025.
The delivery of land for the second project took place shortly thereafter. The new hospital, San Luis de Buin-Paine, will be developed on the site located in the Buin district. The project is due to begin construction during the second quarter of 2022, generating 1,200 new direct jobs. The operation of this new hospital is estimated for the first half of 2025.
