Privatization approved for FDA Geração de Energia Elétrica

The National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) in Brazil has approved the privatization of FDA Geração de Energia Elétrica, a subsidiary of COPEL. The company is a concessionaire of UHE Governador Bento Munhoz da Rocha Netto (Foz do Areia) hydroelectric project.

Foz do Areia is a 1,676 MW capacity hydroelectric dam located on the Iguaçu River in the municipality of Pinhão. The concession runs until December 21, 2024.
