The National Water Commission (NWC) of Jamaica is seeking a developer to finance, design, construct and operate a new office complex at a site owned by the commission in Kingston, under a proposed public private partnership agreement.

The NWC will have the option to reserve for itself approximately 2,800 square metres of the 9,290 square metre complex. The remaining space will be made available for rental by other public and private sector entities.

The redevelopment of the property is part of the Commission’s strategy to reduce its costs and increase its potential revenue earning capabilities and to improve efficiencies in service delivery. The complex will utilise the Eco-Friendly Building Concept in its design and construction to ensure operational efficiency.

The authority launched a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) for the project last month, with responses due 5 February 2019. For more information, see the Business Opportunity.

A shortlist of six firms will be selected from among the applicants to proceed in the tender.
