The City of Edinburgh Council in Scotland issued a prior information notice inviting private developers to develop mixed-use buildings in Edinburgh. The selected developer will be the private partner of the council for the project.
The project involves mixed-use development on a 3-hectare site at Fountainbridge, Edinburgh. The development proposals for the site include at least 435 homes and a separate office building of approximately 10 000 m2 and around 3 000 m2 of ground-floor commercial/retail space which could be used for a variety of purposes. The scope of the project also includes the construction of 176 residential homes, with ground floor retail for the Council, while the office space, remaining residential units, and ground floor retail/commercial space would represent a development opportunity.
Potential bidders who are interested in this opportunity are invited to the market research questionnaire and complete no later than May 3, 2019. Potential development partners who submit a questionnaire can be invited to a dialogue/question and answer session with the Council to expand on their response.
Estimated date of the publication of the contract notice for the project is May 6, 2019.
The Council has also issued a prior information notice to inform potential providers of the intention to tender external legal services.
