Peruvian investment promotion agency (ProInversión) has opened the prequalification phase for Section 4 of the Longitudinal de la Sierra Highway in Peru.

Section 4 of the Longitudinal Highway of the Sierra is a substantial infrastructure endeavor set to benefit over 1.6 million residents across the Junín, Huancavelica, Ica, Ayacucho, and Apurímac regions in Peru. It will stimulate economic activity, including commerce, industry, agriculture, and tourism. This project, requiring an investment of approximately US$970 million, entails a 955 km concession connecting these regions. Among these, 770 km involve initial periodic maintenance, 180 km cover rehabilitation and enhancements, and 5 km are allocated for construction, operation, and maintenance. The overarching goal is to ensure minimum levels of road quality, comfort, and safety.

The prequalification requirement for investors, bank representatives and consultants interested includes:

  1. Operational Experience: Show a track record of operating or having operated a minimum of 100 km of roads in the past 10 years.
  2. Financial Eligibility: Present evidence of a minimum equity of US$131 million.
