Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in USA has selected the consortium East Interchange Builders as the preferred bidder for the I-285/I-20 interchange replacement project. The consortium cis JV of Archer Western Construction LLC and E.R. Snell Contractor Inc. The contract is valued at US$685.60 million. The authority will now negotiate with the chosen bidder to finalize the contract terms.
The interchange will run from west of the I-285 Overpass and end at the east of the Fairington Road Overpass. The works involve reconstructing ramps, constructing new collector-distributor (CD) lanes, adding auxiliary lanes along I-20 and I-285, replacing the Miller Road, I-20 over Snapfinger Creek, and Fairington Road bridges and I-285 northbound over Snapfinger Road. The work will be done through a design-build-finance (DBF) contract.
