La Trobe University in New South Wales, Australia has selected Plenary Group as a preferred master development partner for its AUD5 billion (US$3.53 billion) University City of the Future PPP project.
The University City of the Future will be located at the 235-hectare Bundoora campus and include a dynamic research and innovation precinct, sporting and sports research facilities, a major health and wellbeing hub, and new commercial, retail and residential developments. The project will contribute to economic and social growth in Melbourne, by creating educational facilities for over 40,000 students, around 20,000 new jobs and up to 3,000 construction jobs per year.
The University City of the Future project will create AUD3.5 billion (US$2.45 billion) in Gross Regional Product (GRP) over the next ten years.
