NTA Metropolitan Mass Transit System in Israel has selected a consortium of Alstom as the preferred bidder for the Green line rail transit (LRT) PPP project in Tel Aviv.
The consortium is formed by Alstom, Dan Transportation, and Electra. Once finalized, the consortium will sign concession involving planning, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the LRT Green line. The concession period of the project is 25 years.
The Green line is 39 km long and will run in north-south direction of Tel Aviv. It will have 63 stations, out of which 5 stations will be underground along with a 4.25 km tunnel section. The line will be operated using 120 lower-floor light rail vehicles. The project is expected to be completed and opened in 2027.
