The Victorian Health Buiding Authority has selected Exemplar Health consortium as the preferred bidder to enter into an agreement with the Victorian Government to deliver the Frankston Hospital redevelopment PPP project in Australia.
The selected consortium consists of the following firms: Capella Capital as sponsor and investor, Aware Super as an investor, Lendlease Building Contractors as builder as well as Honeywell Limited and Compass Group Healthcare Hospitality Services as facilities and maintenance managers. The private consortium will be responsible for designing, constructing, financing and maintaining the new facility for a period of 25 years.
With the estimated investment of AUD605 million (US$430 million), the project involves the construction of a multi-level acute services tower that will add capacity for 120 additional beds, two new operating theatres, dedicated spaces for improved mental health and oncology services, maternity, obstetrics and pediatric wards and special care nursery. The construction is expected to begin in the first half of 2022 and be complete in 2025.
