Nye Veier, a company owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport has announced Eiffage as the preferred bidder for a contract covering a section of the E18 motorway. The infrastructure will connect the towns of Langangen and Rugtvedt in a deal worth just over EUR 190 million (US$ 225.61 million).
This design-build contract covers around 7 kilometers of four-lane motorway and involves the construction of 4 viaducts covering a total of 1.5 kilometers, including the new Grenland cable-stayed bridge with a 330 meters main span, excavation of 0.9 kilometers of tunnel, and equipment of 3.3 kilometers of tunnels.
Eiffage collaborated with a number of companies for this tender, including Afry and Greisch design offices as well as the Norwegian firm Bertelsen & Garpestad AS, and has been supported by the bridge expert Mr. Michel Virlogeux. The signature of this iconic contract is set to take place in December 2020. Completion is scheduled for the summer of 2025.
