Preferred bidder selected for Buraydah and Tabuk ISTP PPPs

The Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has announced the selected preferred and reserved bidders for the development of independent sewage treatment plants (ISTPs) located at Buraydah station (second phase) and Tabuk station (second phase). The list includes the following teams:

  • The preferred bidder- the consortium of Acciona, Tawzea and Tamasuk with the combined Levelized cost for both projects of 1.4395 SAR/m3 (US$0.383/m3);
  • The reserved bidder- the consortium of Aqualia, Alfanar and Al Khorayef with a bid of 1.7078 SAR/m3 (US$0.454/m3).

The selected team will be responsible for the financing, engineering, procurement, construction, implementation, ownership, operation and maintenance as well as the transfer of the plants for a 25-years period. The Tabuk 2 ISTP project will have an ultimate treatment capacity of 90,000 m3/day. The Buraydah 2 ISTP will have a capacity of  150,000 m3/day.
