The Saudi Water Partnerships Company (SWPC) has announced the appointment of the alliance consisting of the French company Engie and the Saudi Mowah Company as the preferred bidder for the development, design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of Yanbu-4 independent water producer project with a capacity of 450,000 cubic meters per day.
The project will be established in the Al-Rais Center of Badr Governorate, to serve the drinking water in Makkah and Madinah. It will include water tanks with a production capacity of two operational days in addition to solar energy units to reduce the electrical energy consumption from the network.
The Angie and Mowah consortium quoted SAR 1.7446 (US$ 0.46546) per cubic meter, which was the lowest of all six bids received by SWPC.
