De Werkvennootschap has announced preferred applicants for R0 x A201 interchange public-private partnership (PPP) project in Brussels.
A SPI.R0 consortium consisting of Jan De Nul and Be.Sharppp (a subsidiary of Willemen Groep) has been named as the preferred bidder. The consortium will be responsible for the reconstruction of the interchange on the ring road around Brussels near Brussels Airport so that traffic between the ring road (R0) and Leopold III-laan (A201) will take place only through one bridge over the ring road.
The project is part of the "Work on the Ring" program. It aims to improve traffic flow and security on the R0 and A201, improve the quality of life around the R0 with nature in mind, and improve the multi-modal accessibility of Brussels Airport and the surrounding area.
