Ministry of Energy, Mines and Environment of Morocco launched the Call for Expression of Interest (RFEOI) seeking interested companies to design, construct and operate floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) PPP project. A British company, Predator Oil & Gas, has submitted a response to this RFEOI.
The FSRU will supply the domestic market with natural gas and will be located off the Atlantic coast in one of the following ports- Nador West Med, Kenitra Atlantique, Jorf Lasfar or Mohammedia. The interested company needs to propose a system compatible with the maritime infrastructures of the reception terminal.
In addition, the initial annual requirement is 1.1 billion cubic meters (BCM) of natural gas, rising to 1.7 BCM in 2030 and 3 BCM in 2040. The project should meet the demand for the gradual development of the natural gas market.
