TransIsrael (formerly known as Cross Israel Highway) has launched a request for qualification seeking private partner for Haifa-Nazareth light-rail project. The Cross Israel Highway was established in 1993, which recently added scope to mandate the PPP initiatives in Israel and changed the name to TransIsrael.
The Haifa-Nazareth light-rail project involves the construction and operation of a 41km light rail line between the cities of Haifa and Nazareth, in the north of Israel. It will have 20 stops, passing through Kiryat Ata, Shfaram, Bir al-Maksur, Reineh-Mashhad and Upper Nazareth, and 32 trains, which will travel at up to 100km/h, resulting in a maximum frequency of one train every four minutes. It is projected to carry up to 10,620 passengers per hour. As well as the railway, private partners will construct and operate the 20 stations, parking facilities, a depot, and a control center.
The deadline to submit the qualifications is November 17, 2020. You can find more information about this RFQ on our business opportunity page here.
