The National Government of Colombia has launched the pre-construction phase of 310 km of the New Malla Vial del Valle del Cauca PPP project.
The scope of works includes the construction, rehabilitation, maintenance and operation of road between the departments of Cauca and Valle del Cauca. The total length of the project is 310 km. The concession contract was awarded to the Concesionaria Rutas del Valle SAS and its value is COP1,223 billion (US$321.8 million). The firm has accredited its financial capacity and investment experience through the Patria Infrastructure Fund IV Private Capital Fund.
The pre-construction phase of this project, in charge of the National Infrastructure Agency-ANI, begins with the operation and maintenance of the existing infrastructure, also guarantees for users, the free crane service, workshop car, ambulances, and surveillance of the corridor, 24 hours a day. It is expected to generate 40,000 jobs in the region.
With this initiative, it is estimated that around 3,300,000 inhabitants of 12 municipalities of Valle del Cauca will benefit, including: Buga, Candelaria, El Cerrito, Florida, Guacarí, Ginebra, Jamundí, Palmira, Vijes, Yotoco, Yumbo and Cali, by as well as five municipalities of Cauca: Caloto, Miranda, Puerto Tejada, Santander de Quilichao and Villarica.
The consortium led by SYSTRA has been chosen to design the second line of metro network in Bogotá, Colombia.
