The City of Portage La Praire has launched a request for qualification (RFQ) from interested developers for the planned Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) Upgrading and Operation Project.
The facility in Portage la Prairie will treat the wastewater generated by the City and surrounding fringe areas in the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie, including Southport Aerospace and Poplar Bluff Industrial Park.
The works will be delivered using the Design-Build Finance Operate Maintain (DBFOM) model. The WPCF needs to be upgraded to meet the Manitoba Water Quality Standards, Objectives and Guidelines Regulation for the discharge of treated wastewater to the Assiniboine River, specifically regarding nutrients, and to improve residual solids management.
The deadline for the submission of documents to participate in the tender is on November 2, 2020.
