Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) have selected Pomerleau Inc. as the preferred proponent to further develop the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) redevelopment public-private partnership (PPP) project in Canada.
Pomerleau Inc. will develop the project requirements and design, pricing, and risk parameters. The project team consists of lead applicant Pomerleau Inc., design team Kasian Architects Ontario Inc. and Bertrand Wheeler Architecture Inc., the constructor of Pomerleau Inc. and financial adviser to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Pomerleau Inc. will work with IO, WAHA and the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Services Canada to define project requirements to advance the design and validate fixed prices. Pomerleau Inc. will engage with local communities to ensure that the project design and development process meets the needs of indigenous communities.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024 after the completion of the development phase.
