The Government of Nepal has inaugurated Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) in Gandaki, Nepal.
The project involves the development of PRIA and Annapurna Circuit trekking route for tourists. The international flights are expected to take off in the Q1 of 2023.
The project was developed by China CAMC, a subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Corporation. The cost of construction was around US$300 million out of which US$216 million was financed by a loan from China’s Export–Import bank under the Belt and Road Initiative.
