Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has signed a concession contract with TRIL Urban Transport (a subsidiary of Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited) and Siemens Project Ventures GMBH (a subsidiary of Siemens Financial Services) for the design, build, finance and operate (DBFOT) scheme of the Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi Metro line project in Pune.
The project would have 23.3 km in length and can carry up to 30,000 passengers per hour during peak hours. The line will connect the Civil Court, Shivajinagar to Maan near Hinjewadi IT Park, taking 23 stops on its way.
The project represents a total investment of INR81 billion (US$1.14 billion) at an initial concession period of 35 years.
