Plans to Initiate Public Tender for New Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital in Lima

The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) has planned to call the international public tender for the Operation and Maintenance project of the New Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital in Lima, Peru.

The Emergency Hospital in Villa El Salvador, situated on Av. 200 Millas and inaugurated in 2016, is in need of sustainable infrastructure and complementary services to ensure the provision of high-quality healthcare to users and patients. The private operator will provide the following gray coat services:

  1. Maintenance of the building, facilities and electromechanical equipment associated with the infrastructure; 
  2. Maintenance and Replacement of clinical equipment and non-clinical equipment; 
  3. Warehouse management (general warehouse, specialized warehouse, general archive and medical records archive); and
  4. Operation and maintenance of general services: food, laundry, cleaning and biosecurity, comprehensive security.  

An investment of around US$114 million is earmarked for the hospital, aimed at serving over 750,000 residents in the southern Lima area. The gray coat services concession is set for a 15-year duration and is being advanced by PROINVERSIÓN on behalf of MINSA. The tender is expected to be announced by PROINVERSIÓN in December 2023, with the award anticipated in the second semester of 2024.
