The University of Tennessee (UT) and RISE have announced plans to develop 3 residence halls on the university’s campus in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA.
Development plans encompass two communities on Andy Holt Avenue and Caledonia Avenue, catering to first- and second-year students. These communities are projected to open in the fall of 2025, with a combined cost of approximately US$180 million. Adjacent to the university's Lindsey Nelson Stadium, a third residential community is planned, estimated to cost around US$129 million and slated for completion in fall 2026. Overall, the three seven-story communities will contribute 2,500 beds to the university's housing inventory.
The projects will be implemented using a ground lease structure, wherein UT will maintain land ownership while RISE assumes responsibility for developing, financing, and constructing the facilities.
