The Ministry of Transportation in Colombia has published the draft tender specifications for the Magdalena River PPP.
The project is part of the 5G routes and has been jointly structured by the ANI and Cormagdalena with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The draft specification will be published for four weeks on the website of the State Secop I. The Magdalena River PPP will have an estimated investment of COP1.53 billion (US$394.27 million).
The project aims to recover navigability with the intervention of 668 kilometers of river, between Bocas de Ceniza (Barranquilla) to Barrancabermeja (Santander). It will have 18 functional units and most of the works correspond to hydraulic infrastructure. The pre-construction period of the Magdalena River PPP will be 13 months and the construction is expected to last 4.5 years. The concession will have a period of 15 years and 6 months.
