Places for People has announced that it has signed a contract with Surrey County Council to deliver housing in the county, located in the south of England, through a 15-year joint venture. This follows an extensive procurement process, and the two parties will commence development immediately.
The joint venture will develop housing on sites in the county no longer required for service delivery, creating economic growth, jobs and sustainable investment. The housing will include new homes for sale and rent, and affordable homes.
Work on evaluating the potential of the first tranche of sites is already underway. The first new homes delivered by the joint venture are expected to be completed in 2019.
