The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham in the UK has issued a Prior Information Notice (PIN) for the Hammersmith Bridge restoration concession in London.
The Hammersmith Bridge crosses the River Thames and connects Hammersmith and Fulham with Richmond-Upon-Thames. The works include restoration and return of the bridge to full modal access (subject to pre-closure weight restrictions) and will be carried out in two stages:
- The Stabilisation Works include pedestal repair to address the immediate issues and ensure the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and river traffic. The Stabilisation Works are already in progress.
- The Strengthening Works include the substantial strengthening and restoration of the bridge to include full modal access. The realization of this stage will enable the bridge to allow vehicular traffic on a long-term basis. The estimated value of the Strengthening Works is from GBP80 million (US$100.99 million) to GBP130 million (US$164.11 million).
