Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has published a prior information notice (PIN) to procure the services of a Technical Advisor (DTA) in order to protect the Government’s interests in the Thames Tideway Tunnel (TTT) project in the UK. The project is completed by 60%.

The selected advisor will provide the Defra’s Thames Tideway Tunnel Team (TTT Team) with technical expertise from an engineering and major construction project perspective. Once the project will move from the tunneling to the commissioning phase, the TTT Team will require a DTA that can also provide expertise on the commissioning of major construction projects.

The advisor will need to assess the data and information provided by Tideway and the project’s Independent Technical Adviser (ITA) and report back to Defra. The total scope of work includes as well the following tasks:

  • Analyze and interpret information and data on project progress, including cost and schedule;
  • Identify risks and issues relevant to Government, including construction delays and issues and commissioning that could lead to claims under the GSP;
  • Advise Deon on steps that should be taken to better understand and mitigate risks.

The estimated value for the contract is up to GBP 400K (US$ 556K). The contract notice will be published after May 28, 2021. More information about this PIN you can find here
