The PPP provides an investment of over BRL150 million (US$27.6 million) and up to 23% of the monthly reduction in state energy spending for public agencies. Under a 25-years contract, the project will produce energy injected into the Equatorial utility network and will directly benefit almost 90,000 residents of the area. In addition, the selected companies will develop in partnership with the State University of Piauí (Uespi) a Renewable Energy and Research Center, which will be a space for research, technical training and education.
