The government of the Philippines is planning to hold a Swiss Challenge before the end of 2021 for the US$ 421 million Cavite-Batangas-Tagaytay expressway (CBTEX) project. Ministry of Public Works granted Metro Pacific Tollways Corp (MPTC) for the construction of this expressway in 2018.
The project involves a 50.42 km tolled road linking the Cavite-Laguna expressway (CALAX) starting at Silang East Interchange and with eight interchanges located in Kawit, Governor’s Drive, Open Canal, Silang (Aguinaldo) Highway, Silang East, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay, Laguna Boulevard, and Laguna Technopark. The expressway is expected to serve 45,000 vehicles a day and reduce travel time for Cavite to Laguna up to two hours.
