The Department of Transportation (DoTr) will award Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. the PHP 4.53-billion (USD 76 billion) contract for the operations and maintenance of the New Bohol-Panglao International Airport after no bids were received by the November 11, 2024 deadline.
The notice of award to the winning bidder will be issued on November 28, 2024, and the official handover of the airport’s operations and maintenance to the private operator will take place on June 22, 2025. The contract involves upgrades, expansion, and maintenance of the airport within 30 years from the start of the turnover.
Aboitiz InfraCapital plans to partner with a foreign technical service provider as part of the requirements. The project aligns with the government’s broader airport privatization plans, which include other facilities like the Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, and Kalibo airports.
