The government of the Philippines has awarded a contract to Vivant Hydrocore Holdings Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vivant Corporation, for the development of a desalination plant in the Metropolitan Cebu Water District.
The project was awarded on a bulk water supply agreement with a concession period of 25 years, during which the company will build a utility-scale desalination plant that can produce 25,000 cubic meters of treated and potable water per day. The project aims to increase the limited stocks of bulk water of the Cebu utility.
The estimated investment value for the project is PHP1.5 billion (US$30.74 million).
