The Municipality of Petrolina and Engie Soluções Cidades Inteligentes e Infraestrutura de Petrolina S.A. have signed a contract for Petrolina Public Lighting project in Pernambuco, Brazil.
The project is a public-private partnership (PPP) that was modeled by the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES). Engie will be responsible for the modernization, expansion and maintenance of Petrolina´s public lighting infrastructure
The project involves the installation of LED lamps in more than 36,000 spots throughout the municipality that will benefit a population of about 350,000 inhabitants. The project will also include the implementation of intelligent systems of operation and remote monitoring for lighting Petrolina´s most important streets, as well as specific lighting for monuments and tourist spots.
