The Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión) of Peru has launched an international public tender for the concession of three electricity transmission projects that will benefit the populations of the Tumbes, Piura, Huánuco and Ucayali Regions.

The agency is seeking private partners to develop a 72.7km transmission line between Tingo María and Aguaytía, an 87km line between La Niña and Piura, and a 158km line between Pariñas and Nueva Tumbes. The private partners will also construct new substations to connect the lines.

The concessions will be granted to the bidders that offer the lowest Total Service Cost, in accordance with the provisions of the Bidding Terms, in order to design, finance, build, operate and maintain the transmission assets.

Together, the three projects require an approximate investment of US$208 million and are expected to be awarded in the second half of 2019.

Applications to qualify for the tender are due on 1 August 2019. Those deemed suitably qualified will be announced on 27 August.
