Peru launches tender for two transmission line PPPs

ProInversion in Peru has launched a tender seeking a private partner for the development of transmission lines connecting Ica – Poroma and Cáclic – Jaén Norte. These transmission lines will strengthen the power supply network in the provinces of Ica, Amazonas, and Cajamarca. The estimated investment value for these projects is US$130 million.

The transmission line between Ica and Poroma will have capacity to carry 220 kV. The project also involves development of supporting sub-stations and extensions. The transmission line is planned to be constructed within 32 months. Another transmission line between Cáclic and Jaén Norte will also have the capacity to carry 220 kV. The scope of work includes development of two-circuit transmission line along with supporting sub-stations and extensions. This transmission line is estimated to be constructed within 36 months.

Both projects are being procured under Design, Finance, Build, Operate and Maintain (DBFOM) model with a concession period of 30 years. The contract is scheduled to be awarded in fourth quarter of 2022.
