Anglian Water has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice to develop up to three Desalination Plants in Huntingdon, UK.

Anglian Water plans two tenders: one for appointing technical partners in 2025 to support the design and development of desalination plants at Bacton and Mablethorpe, and another for a Competitively Appointed Provider (CAP) to manage the Bacton project. The CAP tender, encompassing design, build, financing, operation, and maintenance, is anticipated to launch around late 2027 or early 2028. The process aims to gauge market interest in these significant water infrastructure initiatives.

Anglian Water retains the option not to proceed with a tender for these services. Companies with expertise in financing construction projects under DPC, PFI, or PPP models, or those experienced in constructing water treatment facilities to UK water industry standards, are encouraged to express interest. Interested parties should email AWDesal@anglianwater.co.uk with details including company name, contact information, main point of contact and role, and the company’s primary business focus.
