The Pennon Group has completed its acquisition of Bristol Water Holdings UK Limited in a deal worth GBP425 million (US$560.3 million).

The deal was put on a hold in June 2021. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has cleared the takeover after conducting an investigation in December last year to check whether the merger would reduce competition in the water industry and prejudice the ability of water watchdog Ofwat to make comparisons between water companies.
