The Office of Public Private Partnerships of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has launched a request for information (RFI) for the Keystone Corridor station improvement project.

The project may be developed on a design, build, finance, operate and maintain (DBFOM) basis. However, PennDOT is also open to other structures.

PennDOT plans to publish the request for qualifications in the second quarter of this year and the request for proposals in the third. The project is scheduled to be awarded in late 2014 or early 2015.

Interested companies must submit the response to this RFI on or before 1:00 PM on March 17, 2014.

The Keystone Corridor is a 349 mile (562 km) railroad line linking Pittsburgh and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. Amtrak currently runs two services along the Keystone Corridor: the Keystone Service or Keystone Line (Harrisburg - New York City) and the Pennsylvanian (Pittsburgh - New York City). Additionally, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority operates daily commuter rail service between Thorndale and Philadelphia, making station stops at Downingtown, Exton, Paoli and Ardmore.

The project involves improvements for the following stations and accompanying facilities along Amtrak's Keystone Corridor: Harrisburg, Middletown, Mount Joy, Elizabethtown, Lancaster, Parkesburg, Coatesville, Downingtown, Exton, Paoli, and Ardmore.
