Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) in USA has identified a potential project to be completed on PPP mode. The project includes replacement of 10 bridges along a 25-mile section of I-81 and five bridges along a 10-mile section of I-80 between the City of Hazleton and the City of Wilkes-Barre in Luzerne County. I-81 and I-80 section are located in US State Pennsylvania. The bridges are currently grouped based on location, with eight (8) near the City of Wilkes-Barre, five (5) from the I-81/I-80 interchange and west on I-80 to the Nescopeck Creek, and two (2) near the City of Hazleton.

PennDOT's P3 board has approved the request to use PPP procurement for the project. Project funding of US$ 176 million is currently available via the Interstate Maintenance Program, and as such, financing may not be required. The ability to reduce project cost while accelerating project delivery through innovative delivery methods is possible.
