The PD Ports in the UK has secured the funding of GBP 230 million (US$ 307.13 million) to develop a waste-to-energy plant in Tees Valley. Environmental company Wentworth Clean Power Limited (WCP) will provide consultancy services for the plant development at South of Teesport Commerce Park.
The 30MW capacity plant will process 300,000 tonnes of feedstock to provide power to 27,000 homes. The plant is expected to be operational by the second half of 2024.
