The Pattaya City Authority has held meetings to introduce a new 17.37 km monorail system (Red Line) in Pattaya, Thailand.
The proposed Red Line will include ten stations along a route that covers significant parts of the coastal city. The line will start at Thappraya Intersection, pass through key roads like Thap Phraya Road and Jomtien Second Road, and continue to the Eastern National Sports Training Center.
Because a monorail system would take up less space on already-existing roads, it was the obvious choice considering Pattaya's compact urban structure and popularity as a tourist destination. Notwithstanding these advantages, the study during the second public hearing on the project also pointed out that building and operating a monorail system comes with higher expenditures.
