The Savills Housing Development & Regeneration and Cardiff Development teams have appointed Lovell Partnerships as the preferred bidder to bring forward the Cardiff and Vale Housing Partnership.
This partnership marks Cardiff Council’s second housing initiative following the Cardiff Living scheme. It is part of the council’s broader development strategy—the largest council-led housing programme in Wales—which aims to deliver over 4,000 new homes across the city, including at least 2,800 new council homes. At least half of these will be affordable properties retained by the council for social rent or shared ownership, while the remainder will be sold on the open market.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council has also embarked on an ambitious house-building programme committing GBP 920 million (US$ 1.1 billion) to the development of new Council homes over the next 30 years, aiming to deliver at least 880 new homes through the partnership with Lovell.
