John Laing Group (John Laing) has announced that it has entered a partnership arrangement to acquire an indirect majority interest from Macquarie Capital in the consortium delivering Norway’s Rv555 Sotra Connection public-private partnership (PPP).
This acquisition builds on John Laing's strong track record in transport PPP and enables it to further scale its portfolio in Europe. Prior to this project, Macquarie Capital and John Laing collaborated on various initiatives, such as the Denver FasTracks Eagle P3, a rail PPP in Colorado, USA and the Australian New Generation Rollingstock PPP, which involved rollingstock and maintenance facility construction.
John Laing was advised on the transaction by DLA Piper, PwC and Atkins.
