Western Melbourne Group (WMG) has agreed to partnerships with YourLand Developments and Johnson Controls for the development of a stadium and mixed-use sports and recreation project in Australia.
The USD 1.34 billion mixed-use suburb, developed through a public-private partnership (PPP) with Wyndham City Council, features Western United as the sports partner, YourLand as the development partner, and Johnson Controls as the technology partner. The 15,000-seat stadium anchors a comprehensive development connecting sports, commercial, and residential precincts, including a 5,000-capacity second stadium, 900-plus residential units, and recreation-focused wetlands. Transforming 70 ha in Tarneit, the project delineates High-Performance Sports, Stadium, Residential, and Commercial and Mixed-Use Precincts.
WMG secures an AUD 50 million (USD 33.5 million) debt facility from Johnson Controls, while the remaining funding comes from the PPP agreement with Wyndham Council, YourLand, and private investors.
