SYSTRA team has officially inaugurated the overhead section of Hanoi metro Line 3.
Hanoi Line 3, known as the "Temple of Literature Line," began operations on August 8, 2024. This 8.5 km elevated line runs from Nhổn to Hanoi City Centre in Cầu Giấy and is expected to significantly enhance mobility across six districts for nearly 20% of Hanoi’s population. SYSTRA played a key role as the Project Implementation Consultant, overseeing civil engineering and systems work, and providing operational support as a Shadow operator to train staff. On July 30, 2024, the first tunnel boring machine (TBM) was launched to construct tunnels extending Line 3 to Hanoi station, the city’s main multimodal hub, with completion scheduled for 2027. The underground extension will be built as two separate tunnels due to the dense and fragile urban environment above.
