The Saudi Water Partnership Company has inaugurated the Al Shuqaiq 3 desalination plant located in the Jazan region of Saudi Arabia.
The PPP project was realized by the consortium of Marubeni Corporation, Acciona Agua, S.A., Abdul Latif Jameel Commercial Development Company Limited, and Rawafid Alhadarah Holding Co. Spread over 160,000 square meters of area, the desalination plant will provide 450,000 cubic meters of fresh water per day.
The investment value of the project is SAR2.1 billion (US$559.22 million). The desalination plant is expected to serve more than 1.2 million inhabitants residing in regions of Jazan and Aseer.
