Infrastructure Ontario and Casey House have issued a request for qualifications to build and finance the Casey House facility replacement project, which will improve care and support services for those living with HIV/AIDS.

Submissions will be reviewed to pre-qualify project teams with the required construction capability, experience and financial capacity to undertake a project of this size and complexity.

These teams will then be invited to respond to a request for proposals, which is expected to be released in early 2014.

The project:

The replacement project will provide more efficient, seamless care by consolidating all programs and services under one roof.

The project involves renovating an existing heritage property at 571 Jarvis St. and incorporating a new 48,000-square-foot facility that will be built at 119 Isabella St. The new facility will feature:

• 14 in-patient beds, including two respite beds
• office space for the development of home care programs
• therapy rooms and community space for day health programs
• new spaces for administrative and support services, including the Casey House Foundation
• underground parking for 15 vehicles
